Oral Surgery Near You

Some dental conditions require treatment beyond routine dental care. At Health First Dental, we provide oral surgery in NW Calgary when surgical treatment is appropriate and consider your overall health, medical history, lifestyle, and individual dental needs.

Having access to appropriate care close to home can make treatment easier to manage. If you are looking for oral surgery near you, our team can evaluate your condition, explain your options, and help you understand what to expect before treatment.

What Does Oral Surgery Involve?

Oral surgery encompasses dental procedures involving the teeth, gums, jaw, or surrounding oral tissues that may require a surgical approach. Depending on the condition, treatment may include tooth extraction, removal of impacted teeth, or other procedures.

Before recommending surgery, we evaluate the affected area and review your relevant health history. When needed, diagnostic imaging can help us understand the position of teeth, roots, bone, and surrounding structures.

If you are considering oral surgery in NW Calgary, we will explain why the procedure may be recommended and discuss appropriate alternatives when they are available.

Who May Need Oral Surgery?

Surgical dental care may be considered when you have:

  • A tooth that cannot be restored
  • An impacted or difficult-to-remove tooth
  • Significant dental infection
  • Dental trauma
  • A tooth causing persistent pain or functional problems
  • A condition requiring treatment of oral tissues or jaw structures

If you are searching for oral surgery near you, an evaluation can help determine whether surgery is appropriate for your particular condition.

What Can Oral Surgery Help Address?

  • Addresses Significant Dental Problems: Surgery can treat conditions that may not respond to routine dental treatment.
  • Protects Surrounding Structures: Appropriate treatment can help prevent an affected tooth or condition from causing further local problems.
  • Restores Function: Treatment may improve chewing, comfort, or oral function when a dental condition interferes with daily activities.
  • Personalized Care: Your treatment plan is based on your health history and individual needs.
  • Clear Treatment Planning: We explain the recommended procedure and recovery expectations before treatment.

How Does the Oral Surgery Process Work?

When we provide oral surgery in NW Calgary, we take a careful approach from evaluation through recovery.

  • Initial Assessment: We review your symptoms, dental history, and relevant health information.
  • Diagnostic Evaluation: We examine the affected area and recommend imaging when clinically necessary.
  • Treatment Discussion: Our team explain the recommended procedure, expected benefits, risks, and, when appropriate, alternatives.
  • Comfort Planning: We discuss local anaesthesia or other appropriate comfort options based on the procedure and your needs.
  • Surgical Treatment: The procedure is completed using appropriate clinical techniques.
