Dental Digital X-Rays
Dentists are obligated to follow what is known as the ALARA principle when prescribing x-rays. ALARA is an acronym which stands for “As Low As Reasonably Achievable”and applies to the use of radiation as a diagnostic tool. Since most dental diseases cannot be diagnosed nor treated without x-rays, we have done our best to follow the ALARA principle by investing in digital x-ray equipment.
This digital system is also environmentally friendly and does not require hazardous developing solutions or lead covered films.
Each dental chair is equipped with a flat panel video monitor where you are able to see firsthand the results of your x-rays. In this learning environment you are able to take an active role in the decisions pertaining to your oral health.
Please note, we are not able to provide dental care without current x-rays.
Diagnostic Benefits of Digital X-Rays
Digital x-ray images capture are able to be manipulated to increase the clarity of oral problems that might otherwise go undetected. This technology allows us to better diagnose tooth decay, periodontal disease, cancer, abnormal growths in the jaw bones, cavitations, sinus abnormalities, and TMJ disorders.
