Meet the Health First Dental Team!

Dr. Sean Freiberg

Dr. Sean Freiberg is a general dentist who practices biological dentistry. He completed his pre-dental training at Brigham Young University and graduated Cum Laude when he received his bachelor of science degree in 1994. Dr. Freiberg continued his education at Oregon Health Sciences University where he received his DMD degree in 1999.

While in dental school, Dr. Freiberg developed a keen interest in dental materials. In addition to his studies in dental school, Dr. Freiberg’s work was published in the American Journal of Dentistry for his research in the field of dental materials. He was also selected to present his research at the National Institute of Dental Research (NIDR) convention in 1997.

Since dental school, Dr. Freiberg has applied his knowledge of dental materials and their effects on the human body to his clinical practice. Dr. Freiberg practices mercury-free, health-centered dentistry. His practice philosophy focuses on the oral contributions to diminished general health.

Other areas of interest that are available at Health First Dental include sedation dentistry, laser dentistry, orthodontics and dental implants.

Dr. Freiberg is a member of the Alberta Dental Association and College, Canadian Dental Association, Calgary and District Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation.

In 1993 Dr. Freiberg married his beautiful wife Lara, who grew up in Calgary. They have two lovely daughters, Sommer and Olivia, and a son, Erik.

Dr. Freiberg enjoys spending his spare time in church service and in the outdoors. Some of his favorite activities include mountain biking, fishing, basketball, golf, and snowboarding.

Carol Bartolillo – Office Manager

Carol Bartolillo Carol brings over 20 years of experience within the dental industry. Her professionalism and warm personality heighten the level of customer service to new and refreshing levels at Health First Dental. 

Carol’s broad understanding of dental technology, health care benefits, and treatment alternatives provides a wealth of knowledge for our patients to access as they consider their oral health care options. Carol comes from a large family who enjoy their Italian roots. She and her husband are the proud parents of two wonderful children.



Diane Harding – Level II Dental Assistant

Diane was born and raised in Fredericton, New Brunswick. In 2006 she received her Level II dental assisting diploma from Holland College in Prince Edward Island. Following graduation Diane worked for 6 years as a dental assistant for an endodontist in Fredericton. 

Diane’s skills and experience combined with her positive attitude and genuine love for patients raises our level of care at Health First Dental. In addition to her passion for dentistry, Diane enjoys snow skiing, reading, and spending time with family and friends.



Jennifer Monette-Jones – Level II Dental Assistant

Jennifer was born and raised in Calgary. After spending many hours in the orthodontic chair, she decided to enter the world of dentistry. She graduated at the top of her class from KDM Dental College as a Level II dental assistant. 

Her experience and outstanding technical skills have enhanced the level of care at Health First Dental. Jennifer has also been trained to assist with orthodontics, sedation dentistry, and mercury-free dentistry. In her spare time, she enjoys golfing, painting, and spending time with family and friends.




Kristi Leavitt – Hygiene Coordinator

Kristi is originally from Lethbridge, Alberta. She moved to Calgary in 2008 to attend Columbia College where she completed the dental assisting program. Kristi’s experience as a dental assistant is a unique asset to our administrative team. 

Her understanding of the clinical side of dentistry ensures all of our patients are receiving timely periodontal (gum) care. Outside of the office Kristi enjoys reading, riding horses, hiking and travelling.




Jeanne Saulnier – Dental Hygienist

Jeanne is a graduate of Dalhousie University. She has lived most of her life in Halifax and moved to Calgary in 2008. With over 25 years of experience, she is a real asset to the Health First Dental Team. 

Our patients love her warm personality and gentle touch. Jeanne has also received additional training in mercury-free dentistry and laser periodontal therapy. Her hobbies include travelling, hiking, and cross-country skiing.





Kaity Alvarez – Level II Dental Assistant

Kaity is originally from Grande Prairie, Alberta and moved to Calgary in 2012 to attend the dental assisting program at SAIT where she graduated with honors. She cherishes the relationships she forms with patients and is passionate about helping them meet their oral health goals. In addition, Kaity’s meticulous attention to detail allows her to excel when assisting with Invisalign, dental implants, and mercury-free dentistry. 

 Her exceptional chairside skills and vibrant personality make her a real asset to the Health First Dental Team. In her spare time Kaity enjoys playing basketball, reading, and spending time with her family.


Ryan Norman – Dental Hygienist

Ryan brings a broad understanding of dental hygiene as a result of his world experience. He studied pre-dentistry at University of Regina and received his dental hygiene degree from Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology (SIAST) in 2000. After working in Saskatoon for 1 ½ years, he moved to Switzerland where he worked full-time as well as travelled throughout Europe, Egypt, and Thailand. 

Upon returning to Canada, Ryan lived and worked on Vancouver Island for 2 years, and in 2005, he moved to Calgary and has been an asset to the team at Health First Dental. Ryan’s friendly personality and clinical knowledge make him excellent at educating patients about their oral health. He also has received additional training in biocompatible periodontal therapy and laser periodontal therapy. His hobbies include camping, hiking, snowboarding, and travelling.
